A Hidden Canyon in Piedmont: The Val Borbera Gorge

Piedmont Scout · Video · 1 July 2026

The Val Borbera Canyon — locally the Strette di Pertuso — is a stunning gorge in Piedmont, North Italy around 6 km of towering rock walls up to 100 m high, emerald-green pools and wild conglomerate rock carved by the Borbera stream, in the Province of Alessandria. This is the kind of place you only find with eyes on the ground. Piedmont Scout visits, walks and honestly films the towns, villages and wild corners of Piedmont, so you understand the area before you ever travel.
